About The Event
October 4 - January 8
Recently awarded the 2021 Florida Prize in Contemporary Art for his The Promised Land series, Robert Rivers is a noted artist and fine art professor at the University of Central Florida.
Since his earliest childhood growing up in Guntersville, Rivers has always drawn pictures. A graduate of Auburn and the University of Georgia in Athens, Robert's work has been exhibited worldwide.
The Promised Land is Rivers' response to his nephew's death in Afghanistan. Repeating iconic images drawn from his experiences, from the mythology of many cultures, and from historical depictions, these paintings are both a tribute to Thomas.
On view will be 19 images curated from the series.
